So… Beatport leading digital download shop for electronic music meets handle with care the gallic thorp of vinyl possessed?!?!? Well, digital is not always better, you know! For the this year´s Beatport Friends & Family party we produced a particularly lovely package of earplugs (sic!), a lighter, button, ball pen and smart cotton bag. But i DJing? Come on we still prefer to spin the real records…
We have to admit we were a little bit proud when optimal media entrusted our brand new merchandise departement with a bulk order. This was to start their own collection of T-shirts and in house goods for all the 600 staff members. Exclusively we therefore created several slogans with a distinctive logo design and hoped these would go down well. And guess what, half of the initial order got sold within the first few days, so big shouts to Petra Funk for her great support on this!
The German movie award LOLA for Best Music Score this year went to The Notwist for their outstanding music for the movie “Sturm”. The award for the story about the conviction of a former Yugoslavian military officer at the International Criminal Court of Den Haag was won alongside the German Deutscher Filmpreis Silver award for Best Movie and numerous other national plus international awards. It wasn´t the first collaboration between The Notwist and director Hans-Christian Schmid as they also did the score for his anthology film “Lichter” in 2003. The soundtrack of “Sturm” is available as Vinyl-LP at Alien Transistor.
It took quite a while as you can imagine. But finally it´s done and we are soooo happy. And there´s a bunch of other exciting news. handle with care got a new logo. Slim and shiny like the early morning dew.
Also new is our Merchandise Departement. T-shirts, sweat-shirts, hoodies from American Apparel to Continental to Sol´s. Base caps, keychains, buttons or individually designed USB-sticks- you name it we got it. With familiar handle with care´s first class service and unbeatable prices.
And also new is this blog. Stay tuned for news and specials.
Thank you for more than 6 years being our face to the virtual world. Almost Guinness book awarded for extensive web presence. Funny enough we received quite lot of props for our “so cool site” just recently. So hands up for the very last time and sleep well.
